Slight changes to the blog. Google+ group.
The other day an admin from reddit, where I often submit the blog posts, pointed out that this blog contains mostly secondary content and not much of the original posts. I looked back at most of the posts and that's a very good point. As far as I can see there is not much point in making a post with a single or several videos relying on a third party content. This takes time and doesn't add quality to the blog.
At the moment I am writing my Master's thesis, so there isn't much time to work on the original content at this time, yet I do occasionally stumble upon interesting judo related information, which could be shared much easier via Google+. So, join the judo Google+ group for the judo videos and other content.
Meanwhile I will be gradually removing posts from third party sources excluding my posts from my youtube channel.

Judo tachi waza defensive techniques
AllJudo.net have recently posted their top 10 video choices for the past year. Here is the tachi waza defensive technique video which I found interesting. The rest of their top 10 videos can be located here.
I have also started G+ circle dedicated to judo. You can find it here.

IKSU Sparring session (December 17th, 2011)
Yesterday, there was a sparring session for all of the martial arts down at IKSU Kampsport, judo, brazillian jiu jitsu, and sport jiu jitsu. Went through 5 sparring sessions, which was nice. The problem was that there were only 2 people doing judo, so we sparred 4 times out of 5 sessions. I wish we had this type of thing every week.
Someone had recorded one of the sparring sessions, and I re-uploaded that to my youtube channel. Managed one good throw but otherwise it was somewhat boring since we train together for 1.5 years now, and pretty much know each others capabilities. Still nice to have a video. I am in white:

The return. Södra Judo Open 4.
I haven't been really training or competing in judo for the last 10 years. The details aren't relevant but it sure wasn't my choice. About a year ago I returned to active training, and last weekend went to Stockholm for a small regional judo tournament Södra Judo Open 4.
The whole travel was somewhat poorly planned on my side because I did not know if I was going to participate not until a day before the competition, consequently I was doing the regular workouts and did not prepare had time to shed the weight to compete in my weight class. Consequently, I decided to go for U90 kilos (my actual weight is about 83-4) but there was no way I had time to sweat it out and going for the competition without proper meal and not 100% guarantee of making it to U81 I decided to sign up for U90.
